    Help us test out our new DONATION Program!

    Want free fresh microgreens (grown hydroponically in the campus greenhouse) and organic chicken eggs (from faculty’s backyard chickens)?! </span>They are available for free to any student in need!

    Please let us know: (by responding to this post, or emailing Doni at dnolan6@gmu.edu)

    1. Which variety/ies of microgreens you would like;
      • Sunflower Microgreens (big, crunchy, mild, nutty) AVAILABLE every Tues. starting Sept. 8
      • Pesto Basil and/or Lemon Basil Microgreens (tiny, sweet, fruity) AVAILABLE every Tues. starting Sept. 15
      • Amaranth/Carrot Blend Microgreens (bright pink and green, tiny, earthy/carrot flavors) AVAILABLE every Tues. starting Sept. 15
    2. State whether you want a 6-pack of eggs added – AVAILABLE while supplies last
    3. Choose a pick-up method
    • Walk in to the greenhouse during volunteer shifts (Tues/Wed/Fri 10am – 2pm) Let us know around when you plan to stop by.
    • Contactless pick-up (we’ll leave your package by the street curb, anytime you request during our schedule Tues/Wed/Fri 10am – 2pm)
    • Unable to stop by during greenhouse shifts? Let us know. We are hoping to develop more flexible pick-ups in the future. We are happy to work with you to accommodate your schedule.

    Please take advantage of this bounty of fresh microgreens and organic eggs! Microgreens are shown to fight cancer, prevent diabetes and heart disease. They’re delicious, don’t need to be cooked and you can volunteer in the greenhouse and gardens on campus for free samples, to help us grow and to learn more.

    To sign up for our volunteer shifts, please create an account with your GMU email address on our Sign Ups webpage, linked below. You will find all the information needed to volunteer at our multiple sites on this webpage. We will be requiring masks, and have new safety protocols with lots of sanitation, and socially distanced work stations that are either outdoors or in the greenhouse with constant fresh-air ventilation.
